OBJECTIVES: Students explore the nature of modern art while learning about the process needed to make an informed judgment.

PROCEDURE: Now you have a chance to stump me. Go to a gallery and select a work of art that I must identify. While making your selection be sure to identify the material of the work. If you are not certain, check the label. You should also know the date of the work, the name of the artist, its title, its size, texture, the subject if there is one, and the kinds of lines, shapes, and colors used.
