The baroque is a 17th-century style marked by elaborate ornamentation, so why is it being used to describe contemporary art? For this slide-illustrated lecture, exhibition curator Elizabeth Armstrong details the aspects of this Latin American form that make it Ultrabaroque. Armstrong is the acting director and chief curator of the Orange County Museum of Art and a former Walker visual arts curator.
