Choreographer-dancers Rosy Simas and Baraka de Soleil present their
newest collaborative effort, Residue. Reflecting their exploration
of cultural, spiritual, and ancestral memory, Residue celebrates
the personal histories and individual artistic styles of both choreographers
as they work toward creating a new language of dance. Rosy Simas is

The complementary choreographic team of Garner Gutierrez-Garner Dance
unveils two pieces. With I Echo, Brad Garner fashions new movement
composition to six piano works by George Winston, revealing the personal
statement hidden within the ornamented structure of Winston's work.
With Riding the Melt, Cynthia Gutierrez-Garner blends the lines
between formal concert jazz dance and her interpretation of contemporary

Open Showings, the artists will perform excerpts from their works and
offer insights into their creative process. Come ask questions, give feedback,
and discuss contemporary dance with nine very diverse movement creators.
