Why are we having this dialogue?

We are having this dialogue because there is a difference: a difference between virtual space and actual space. And the difference is important.

It is essential.

The essence of the virtual resides in that it is not the actual, but something else. Something different. An-other which we are not entirely familiar or comfortable with.

Though the virtual is of a different essence than the actual, the virtual is engaged in an unending dialogue with the actual. It is from the actual that the virtual ultimately takes its meaning: through simulation or through abstraction, but always in dialogue...always in reference.

We are having this dialogue in an attempt to understand this dialogue.
