A unique, exciting community program, Stitch of Time brings generations together to create and learn about the history of fiber art and its relationship to life today, while honoring the power of symbols, cultural traditions, and their connections to social action. This vivid exhibition of "story cloths" shares some of the experiences of people at the Association for the Advancement of Hmong Women in Minnesota, Northside Wellness, Skills for Tomorrow Junior and Senior High School, Summit Academy, OIC, Family Support Network, and Plymouth Youth Center North with Families of Murdered Children and St. Olaf Church, all of whom recently participated in the Stitch of Time program. For information, call Intermedia Arts at 612.871.4444. For information on related events, go to opening and workshop.

STITCH OF TIME, A DIALOGUE AMONG GENERATIONS, IS A COLLABORATION OF INTERMEDIA ARTS, THE YWCA OF MINNEAPOLIS, A UNITED WAY-FUNDED ORGANIZATION, AND THE WALKER ART CENTER. THE EXHIBITION STITCH OF TIME: INTERGENERATIONAL STORY CLOTHS IS PRESENTED AT INTERMEDIA ARTS AS A CORNERSTONE OF THIS YEAR'S THICKER THAN WATER: ARTS AS A FAMILY VALUE© PROGRAM OF INTERGENERATIONAL ARTS ACTIVITIES. THIS EXHIBITION IS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE PEW CHARITABLE TRUSTS, THE LILA WALLACE READER'S DIGEST FUND, THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS, AND THE MEDTRONIC FOUNDATION.
