Inspired by Mark Twain's morality tale The Mysterious Stranger, Another Telepathic Thing is a dance-theater parable about faith, temptation, and transformation. Combining Annie-B Parson's deceptively casual choreography and Paul Lazar's (Wooster Group) deft theatrical direction, this story about a charismatic stranger who shatters the peace of a mythic hamlet splices elements of the Twain script with a Bessie Award-winning score and text from actual film and television auditions. The fairy-tale setting is echoed by a contemporary reality that's both painful and humorous as well as a profound critique of the human condition. INSIDE OUT THERE BIG DANCE THEATER SATURDAY, JANUARY 5, 2 PM Big Dance Theater co-artistic directors Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar present an open dialogue regarding the creation and use of text for Another Telepathic Thing.
