KYT "Am I surprised when I walk in? Of course, I'm delighted. It's very original. I don't anticipate to see the amalgamation of an old plane with a...reminds me of a mover's bin." RF "That's good." KYT "That's what I think of. What gave you this idea? Why are you doing what you're doing?" RF "I keep making houses that move, sort of out of a desire to be other places, sort of a mix between wanting to find better things and knowing there's nothing better to find." KYT "Do you feel trapped living in Minneapolis, I mean as an artist?" RF "I'm from Minneapolis and I don't feel trapped here. I travel a lot, and I keep coming back here."
KYT "It's a desire to soar..." RF "Yeah, it's more of a metaphor for wanting to find a better place, a better life, more than really wanting to be in any different place." KYT "Personally, or collectively as your generation...young people wanting to find a better life...?" RF "No, me personally. And it's probably true to a certain degree with everybody. I don't think it's a generational thing."
