James Rondeau addresses Gober's work as it relates to the history of art, domestic architecture, the body, religion, gender, and sexuality. Rondeau was recently appointed Associate Curator for Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he focuses on the collection and presentation of art produced since 1970. Previously he was Associate Curator at Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut, where he organized exhibitions by artists such as Cady Noland and Pipilotti Rist. Rondeau recently reinstalled the Art Institute's permanent collection, and in May he will open an exhibition of new work by Shirin Neshat.
