Sharing a fascination with the alchemy of sound and image, filmmaker Jürgen Reble and electronic music artist Thomas Köner create an ethereal, immersive experience in this rare live performance. Infamous for his radical experimentation with film chemistry--burying reels in dirt to allow natural degradation, scarring film with chemicals, and hanging strips of celluloid from tree branches--Reble will manipulate images while Köner mixes music and noise, including the hum of Reble's projector, into the live score. The result of their audiovisual improvisation is hypnotic, its breathlike rhythm providing an ideal environment for intensive listening with both ears and eyes.
