HIP-HOP MOVES FESTIVAL

OCTOBER 21-NOVEMBER 1, 2003

Since its explosion into the public consciousness more than 25 years ago, hip-hop has increased in momentum, impacting everything from music to fashion to sports to art. Beneath this pop-culture exposure, however, lies a vastly underdocumented history. The Walker invites some of the most influential national and local figures in hip-hop dance to bring its past and future into clearer focus. This 12-day festival celebrates their diversity of movement styles and inspirations, and will include performances, film screenings, workshops, and discussions.
