This special four-concert run by one of America's foremost improvisational vocalists is presented in the acoustic intimacy of the Walker's 340-seat auditorium. Bobby McFerrin's solo a cappella concerts have achieved a near-legendary status and have mesmerized audiences from the Far East to the Hollywood Bowl to La Scala. With remarkable technique and a skill for playfully sparking audience participation, he has carved out a unique place in contemporary vocal performance. McFerrin, who is also an accomplished classical conductor, has created Voicestra (an orchestra of voices), collaborated with Chick Corea and Yo-Yo Ma, and currently serves as Creative Chair for the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. The Walker performances will be recorded for a forthcoming CD release. CDs are also available in the Walker Shops.
