Set in Beijing in 1989 (six months after the events of Tiananmen Square), this poignant elegy to youth and idealism depic ts a student couple's winter of uncertainty. The story unfolds as the headiness of the ideological movements and giddiness of love give way to harsh political and economic realities. This film, Beijing-based Emily Tang's feature debut, won Special Mention at the Locarno Film Festival. 2001, China, color, 35mm, in Mandarin with English subtitles, 97 minutes.
