This December, the Walker teams up with the organization S.A.S.E.: The Write Place for an artfully poetic day for families. Take part in a performance and an exhibition tour, enjoy a film, make your own poem-inspired art, and more. All activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCE: POETRY IN MOTION
Watch the galleries come alive as local poets Tammy Brown, Thien-bao Phi, Matthew John Conley, Sarah Fox, and Truthmaze collaborate in an interactive poetry performance showcasing original poems inspired by artworks in the galleries.

ART-MAKING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY: POETIC IMAGES
Poet Kelley Dunbar and visual artist Donna Bruni Cox help you get in tune with your senses in order to create original poetry and images for greeting cards.

FILM PROGRAM: THE RED BALLOON
Using poetic imagery, this eloquent French film tells the story of a lonely boy who rescues a balloon and discovers true friendship. 34 minutes.
FAMILY TOUR: POETRY ON THE MOVE
Five poets from S.A.S.E. combine poetry with visual art on this lively gallery tour.
