Meaning: Within the virtual space, as within the actual space, meaning is revealed, as it is constructed. Socially. By relation. Meaning is revealed through the structuring of information and the interactions of the participant with that information. Constructing. Polygons are grouped into shapes and forms, pixels are positioned, bits of information exist as objects in and of themselves. These objects may be a representations of some known form and carry a didactic meaning within them. These objects may be abstract forms and expressions transmitting a meaning of a more visceral nature. Whether representational or abstract, they exist as signs and symbols, linguistic constructs, waiting to be read: to be transformed into entities of purpose: meaning. Meaning compounds itself by the ordering of these distinct objects, with all of their own particular attributes, to one another: a social environment enacted by the participant: a sentence or paragraph of experience to be created from words/objects. Space is the page. The words are authored, the narrative must be enacted. This construction of a relation of object to object to participant creates the context . While these objects and forms within space create a dialogue amongst themselves the dialogue remains un-read and without purpose without the active engagement of the participant. It is the participant through not merely their presence but their interaction with the space that context is created and meaning brought forth. Within the virtual space, as within the actual space, meaning is revealed, as it is constructed. Within the virtual space meaning is revealed, as it is constructed, in awareness.
