Oscar nominee Arthur Dong is one of the most talented and committed documentary filmmakers at work today. Best known for his trilogy of award-winning films on antigay prejudice, Dong explored Asian and Asian American concerns in his early independent productions. Those early films revealed his extraordinary skills in weaving archival materials with contemporary interviews and in locating a personal voice and vision to use in describing complex social and political dislocations.
