Moonage Daydream?

My Wish?

Inspiration comes in many different ways. From revealing their devotion to Ronald McDonald and basketball to expressing their insightful revelations on relationships, this year's Girls in the Director's Chair filmmakers teach us that inspiration is within us all. This festival aims to propel and celebrate these young film- and videomakers, while inspiring others to recognize their talents. It strives to break down the boundaries of gender bias in the film world and help bring female filmmaking its long overdue acclamation.

Working on this project has allowed us to view film through the eyes of young women and girls who range in age and experience. Though we had the goals of the program in mind from the beginning, it was not until we saw all of the works that the power of this female movement was felt. It was a privilege to be involved with the Women with Vision festival. We have a newfound appreciation and respect for film, and thank these artists for being our inspiration for the 2002 Girls in the Director's Chair program.
