AFRICA CROSSING
APRIL: 6 | 10 | 11 | 13 | 17 | 18 | 19

In this glittering backstage story, Malak is the queen of the Nile--or at least of the Egyptian stage and screen--who falls in love with a social-climbing scoundrel intent on becoming a star himself. Malak's producers and friends warn her to be cautious, but she will not listen to them until they conceive a plot to entrap her new love interest. Alternating between scenes of concert productions, creative meetings, film shoots, and fantasy romances, Silence . . . We're Rolling presents a glamorous entrée into the world of superstardom and an entertaining all's-well-that-ends-well plot. 2001, Egypt, color, 35mm, in Arabic with English subtitles, 108 minutes.
