In its seventh year, Women with Vision (formerly called Women in the Director's Chair/MN) celebrates contributions made by women film- and videomakers by broadening its scope to present women's viewpoints from around the world. This year the monthlong festival pays tribute to female visionaries from Belgium, Ireland, Iran, India, Canada, and the United States. Women with Vision continues to feature the Home Girls showcase of new works by Minnesota-based women as well as Junior Home Girls, a daylong program of media works by young directors ages 10 to 18. In collaboration with the Walker's New Media Initiatives Department, short works designed for the computer by artists from around the country will be presented before selected screenings. As women continue their quest to use media in their own way, this festival provides a place for their visions to be seen, their voices to be heard, and our audiences to respond.
To purchase tickets in advance by phone with a credit card, call the Walker box office at 612.375.7622 (TDD: 612.375.7585). A $1.50 processing fee will be added to phone orders.
