In addition to writing for the stage and screen, Hanif Kureishi has authored several novels and short stories, including the Whitbread Award-winning The Buddha of Suburbia (1990) and the recently published novel Gabriel's Gift. During his monthlong Retrospective and Regis Dialogue, Kureishi reads from a selection of new short stories at this exclusive Free Verse engagement. His humorous and complex works have earned him critical acknowledgment as Britain's "foremost chronicler of the loveless, the lost, and the dispossessed." A book-signing follows the reading.
