Following the death of her husband, Helge Weindler, on location in Spain during the filming of Am I Beautiful?, Dörrie returned home to Munich. Attempting to face her grief, she found consolation in a recent widower and sought spiritual guidance on a trip to Vietnam to study Buddhism. However, it was through the making of this extremely personal project and eventually returning to Spain that the filmmaker found the peace to deal with her loss.
