I Have Found It is both an inspired adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility (set in contemporary South India) and a tongue-in-cheek primer on the conventions of Indian commercial cinema. The film wittily retells the story of two marriageable girls and their three beaus: an aspiring filmmaker educated in New York who wants to make a film called Speed about a runaway train; an injured soldier; and a smooth stock-market whiz-kid. With dance sequences that move from Tamil Nadu to Egypt to Scotland, this film stars Aishwarya Rai, Tabu, Ajith, and Mammooty with music by the renowned Bollywood/Tollywood composer A. R. Rahman. "The great rites of passage novel about gentle women making their way in the world will never seem quite the same again" (BFI, Beyond Bollywood). 2000, India, color, 35mm, in Tamil with English subtitles, 150 minutes.
