As the piece develops, the narrator speaks of the homeless woman in all of us: the idea that "it could happen to you too." With one sharp gesture, each dancer points to a different spot in the darkened auditorium. Their heads turn to fix that point with their gazes. They circle around, still pointing, as if to identify the "you," the "you," and the "you"--the many "you's" in the audience. It reinforces the juxtaposition of that one wrong turn and the dwindling resources, disrespect, and degradation that can follow. The narrator underscores how easy it is for anyone to slide into the situation of the woman living on the piece of cardboard on the street corner: "Living on the streets, it's so easy. It could happen to you too." [video clip]
