This exhibition centers on the visual, performance, and film/video works commissioned by the Walker in the 1980s and 1990s, including Atelier van Lieshout's The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Dorit Cypis' Backstage at the Walker, Mark Luyten's On a Balcony, Helen De Michiel's The Listening Project, Meg Webster's Glen, and Hachivi Edgar Heap of Birds' Building Minnesota. Commission Possible clarifies the word "commission" and reminds us of the Walker's long history of supporting artists by initiating the creation of new works. |
