In the desultory environs of suburban Mumbai, a charlatan sadhu
counsels innocent workers and housewives tied together in a complex net
of sexual betrayal, unfulfilled desire, and blind faith in his healing
power. When he begins to lose his eyesight, he discovers a new "vision"
that leads to the truth. Sidharth Srinivasan, in his first full-length
film, examines the very nature of truth and belief. Divine Vision
was awarded Best Film at the ITC Digital Talkies International Film Festival
2001 and the Karachi International Film Festival. 2001, India, color,
video, in Hindi with English subtitles, 120 minutes. Copresented by the
Basilica of St. Mary.
