SUMMER DESIGN SERIES
JULY: 11 18 25 AUGUST: 1

The conceptual frame of New York City's LO/TEKarchitecture is based on an ongoing investigation of the unmappable outgrowth of man-made and technological elements interwoven within urban and suburban reality. LO/TEK's design integrates electronic, organic, and manufactured materials imported from the contemporary urban landscape, thereby rethinking the live/work/play functions of space and questioning its conventional uses. Projects undertaken by the innovative firm range from the Goree Memorial and Museum in Senegal to a DJ tower used in a music video for A Tribe Called Quest to a Manhattan studio incorporating a recycled shipping container.

LO/TEKarchitecture is Ada Tolla and Guiseppe Lignano, who were both born and raised in Naples, Italy. They studied at the School of Architecture of the Universitá di Napoli and completed postgraduate work at Columbia University.

AIA is a registered AIA/CES provider. AIA attendees will receive 1.5 hours of continuing education for each lecture. For more information, call Deanna Christiansen at 612.338.6763.
