Directed by Suhasini
This political epic tells the story of a small group of villagers in Maranur, India, whose clashes with a neighboring leader increase as their prosperity grows. As a peaceful coexistence is sought between the divided communities, the struggle against the repressive domain continues and is fostered by greed and desperation. Before making this feature film, Suhasini won India's Best Serial and Best Directing awards for her television series Penn. She is also a celebrated actress and has received numerous awards, including the National Award for Performance. 1995, India, in Tamil with English subtitles, 35mm, 140 minutes.
