In conjunction with the opening of the exhibition Coloring: New Work by Glenn Ligon, the artist will be joined by New York-based poet-critic Wayne Koestenbaum for a discussion about art, culture, and the 1970s. A frequent contributor to Artforum, Koestenbaum is a professor of English at the City University of New York and the author of three books of poetry and four books of prose, including Cleavage: Essays on Sex, Stars, and Aesthetics (Ballantine, 2000). His earlier book of criticism, The Queen's Throat: Opera, Homosexuality, and the Mystery of Desire (1993), was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award.
