In this three-projector panoramic triptych, Jem Cohen creates a "superlandscape" comprised of malls, highways, franchises, hotels, and corporate centers. These images, shot over a period of six years, merge documentary with narrative--hints of stories and current events, both found and invented, explore ways that people navigate an increasingly generic, commercialized, and simulated world. Chain Times Three includes an original music score performed by Montréal's Godspeed You! Black Emperor. 2002, U.S., color, video, 41 minutes.
