Is painting a mode of thought? Where does the edge of the canvas end and the edge of the world begin? Join Paulo Herkenhoff, Adjunct Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and director of the XXIV Bienal de São Paulo (1998); Jennifer Gonzalez, Assistant Professor of Art History, University of California, Santa Cruz; and Daniel Birnbaum, Director of the Städelschule Art Academy, Frankfurt, and its gallery, Portikus, as they discuss these and other questions about painting practices at the beginning of this century. Moderated by Walker exhibition curator Douglas Fogle.
