Come to the Walker to explore wild inventions--both real and imaginary--with your family. Enjoy electronic music, try your hand at composing a tune, watch films, make a new machine, and more. All activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

PERFORMANCE: SONIC CIRCUS
Composers Craig Harris and Stephen Goldstein will perform, then lead a music workshop for families. Part of Sonic Circuits VIII.

12 NOON-3 PM
MUSIC WORKSHOP
Start the morning with an exciting musical performance led by composers Craig Harris and Stephen Goldstein. Then join a family music workshop and experiment with a computer, an electronic keyboard, and other techno-machines to invent new sounds.

ART-MAKING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY: MACHINE DREAMS
Calling all inventors! Join local artist Mary Rivard to create futuristic machines using a variety of artful and unusual recycled materials. Art Lab.

FILMS: IT'S AUTOMATIC
Watch this action-packed assortment of short films that includes Magic Machine, a visual adventure about a kinetic sculptor and his art collection. Program length 35 minutes. Lecture Room.

FAMILY TOUR: HEAR ALL ABOUT IT
What does Sigmar Polke's Potato Machine do? Find out more about works of art that look like machines in the Walker's collection during a tour of Art in Our Time: 1950 to the Present in galleries 4, 5, and 6. Meet in the lobby.
