YOKO ONO CUT PIECE ©2001 Yoko Ono Performing Arts YOKO ONO'S CUT PIECE PERFORMED BY LISA D'AMOUR THURSDAY, APRIL 12, 2001, 7 PM FREE Performance artist Lisa D'Amour will perform one of Yoko Ono's most famous and controversial pieces, in which audience members are invited to cut away pieces of her clothing with a pair of scissors. A daring and compelling work, Cut Piece has been called "an aesthetic commentary on the complicit relationship between individuals and the social body as a whole in its collective behavior." D'Amour, a core member of the Playwright's Center in Minneapolis, is a nationally recognized playwright and multidisciplinary performance artist whose work has earned her Jerome and McKnight fellowships.
