Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jacques Herzog, principal of
the Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron, will discuss the Walker's expansion
and other work. The firm's design for the Tate Modern in London propelled
it into the international limelight. Since that time, Herzog & de
Meuron has produced several highly acclaimed designs, including Prada's
"epicenter" store in Tokyo, the Laban Dance Centre in London, which won
the 2003 Stirling Prize for architecture, and the main national stadium
for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. Herzog will be interviewed
by Jeffrey Kipnis, professor in the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture
at Ohio State University, as part of this ongoing series of conversations
with international architects working with local institutions on new projects. |
