TEEN PROGRAM: STUDENT OPEN HOUSE WITH SAUL WILLIAMS, 5-9 PM
Far from basic and standard, the Walker's annual Student Open House offers
you multiple choices with no right or wrong answers. True or false poet-actor-rapper-singer-musician
and "hyphen-artist extraordinare" Saul Williams delivers his brand of
socially charged rhythm and rhyme. Fill in the blanks left by the artists
in the One
Planet under a Groove,
an exhibition that takes its cues from the world of hip-hop culture. Check
out Off the Record, an activity allowing you to create new art with old
vinyl. Erase what you thought you knew about graffiti as you watch The
Subconscious Art of Graffiti Removal, a film by Matt McCormick that
examines the beauty of rollovers.

from One Big Self: Prisoners of Louisiana, her recent collaboration
with photographer Deborah Luster, a highly charged meditation on incarceration.
