The Design Dutch artist Joep van Lieshout (pronounced "yoop van lee-shout") and his colleagues at the Atelier van Lieshout have designed an outdoor Art Lab, entitled The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly for the Walker Art Center. The Art Lab is made up of two sections: a "fixed" unit, which will remain on site at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, and a "mobile" unit that, beginning in the Spring of 1999, will be taken to other locations in the neighborhood and the community. You could compare the sections to a house and a car. The first section, the house, looks like a wooden cabin. The second section, the car, is a mobile unit. It is a large space that can be moved to neighborhoods throughout the community. The two sections can be joined up at the front and the side of the wooden house, but they can also exist independently of each other. Take a look at each individual part of the model:
