"A spicy, simmering stew of Brazil's African, Arabic, and European
influences." -- The Times, London
The 19-member Grupo Corpo, Brazil's
most popular contemporary dance ensemble, constructs adventurous feasts
for the senses. Its compelling style grafts the pliancy of modern dance
and rhythmic complexity of Afro-Brazilian dance onto ballet. Longtime leaders
of Brazil's fertile contemporary dance scene, brothers Paulo and Rodrigo
Pederneiras (artistic director and choreographer, respectively) pair this
gorgeous hybrid with new sounds in Brazilian music by art-pop composer Arnaldo
Antunes.
