DIRECTED BY MICHELANGELO ANTONIONI
Antonioni's renowned film examines the existential impact of success and
the seeming impossibility of sustained romance. Giovanni (Marcello Mastroianni)
has just published his latest book to great acclaim. His wife, Lidia (Jeanne
Moreau), disenchanted with her husband's flirtations with women and wealth,
attempts to reclaim their love by visiting places that had been special
to them in the past. Winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.
1960, Italy, BW, 35mm, in Italian with English subtitles, 121 minutes.
