FISTS IN HIS POCKET (I PUGNI IN TASCA)
WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY MARCO BELLOCCHIO

Bellocchio's devastating debut is a portrait of the trials of adolescence and the decay of the family in a provincial town. In his disturbing but brilliant film, he "blends savage irony, psychological and social insight, black humor and compassion with astonishing skill" (Toronto Film Society). 1965, Italy, BW, 35mm, in Italian with English subtitles, 105 minutes.

THE SIXTIES: TRACES AND INDICATIONS (IN CERCA DEL SESSANTOTTO. TRACCE E INDIZI)
DIRECTED BY GIUSEPPE BERTOLUCCI

Bertolucci revisits the youth activism of the late 1960s in Italy, France, and the United States. Drawing on archival footage, he creates an emotional and intellectual re-creation of that impassioned period, contextualizing the political action in his home country. 1996, Italy, color and BW, Beta SP, in Italian with English subtitles, 74 minutes.
