Northern Lights

Directed by John Hanson and Rob Nilsson. Introduced by John Hanson.

Part of Location: MN

A beautifully filmed account of the formation of the Nonpartisan League, a populist movement that revolutionized prairie politics in the years before World War I. Detailing the complexity of a vanished period in our history, Northern Lights spotlights the radicalism and labor struggles inherent in an earlier epoch. Produced by the film collective Cine Manifest. 1978, new 35mm print, 95 minutes.
