DESCRIPTION:Celebrate artists who bend boundaries of live performance\, fi
 lm\, and visual art. Find new ways to create meaning and curiosity of your
  own through art-making\, gallery explorations\, and chance encounters.   
 \n\nGallery admission is free for everyone on the first Saturday of each m
 onth from 10 am to 5 pm\, with a variety of family activities scheduled fr
 om 10 am to 3 pm.\n\nActivity: Shimmer and Shine\nStar Tribune Foundation 
 Art Lab\, 10 am–3 pm  \nJoin artist Margaret Pezalla Granlund as she tra
 nsforms the Art Lab and ingeniously investigates light. Wander through a l
 uminous forest\, play with infinite reflections\, and witness the world in
  new and different ways. Materials provided by Lyle Signs\, Inc.\nActivity
 : Light It Up!\nCargill Lounge\, 10 am–3 pm \nDesign your own brilliant 
 structure using lights and a variety of transparent materials. This activi

  moving story of a grandson and his grandfather\, whose bushy black beard

 1 am–2 pm\nMeet up with a tour guide in the exhibition Midnight Party to

 McGuire Theater \n\nA rare treat for the whole family. Get the inside scoo
 p on electronic music and experimental performance from a legendary musici
 an and composer. Laurie Anderson is a poet\, visual artist\, filmmaker\, a
 nd a music pioneer who also invents ingenious gadgets. Did you know she wa
 s NASA’s first artist-in-residence? Anderson shares secrets about creati
 ng her unique musical sounds for violin and voice.  \n\nNote: This worksho
