DESCRIPTION:Hundreds of contemporary artworks for the page fill the Walker
  Art Center in an unprecedented collaboration with Printed Matter centered
  on art-book culture. Over-Booked brings to Minneapolis a preview of the l
 egendary bookstore’s NY Art Book Fair—the premier event for artists’
  books\, catalogues\, monographs\, periodicals\, and zines from around the
  world. The Walker Shop event features a prime selection of titles for bro
 wsing and purchase as well as talks and artist demonstrations. \n\nOver-Bo
 oked launches … of Printed Matter\, the inaugural presentation of a long
 -term partnership and collaboration between the Walker and Printed Matter\
 , showcasing some of our favorite publications. These shelves present a ro
 tating selection of publications—chosen from 15\,000 submitted titles—
 by individual artists\, collectives\, and independent presses worldwide. A
 s part of the project\, Minnesota artists will be featured in the Printed 
 Matter storefront\, building an ongoing exchange of books and discourse ar
 ound the medium of artists’ books.   \n\nA Thursday-night reception kick
 s off the three-day fair. Highlights of the weekend include Printed Matter
  executive director James Jenkin’s talk about tips and trends in artists
 ’ book publishing on Saturday\, and an open house at the Walker's librar
 y showcasing the lauded Rosemary Furtak Collection. Copresented by the Wal

   \n\nOpen Studio with Duncan Hamilton\nSaturday\, September 15\, 12 noon
 –3 pm  \nStar Tribune Foundation Art Lab  \nJoin Duncan Hamilton of the 
 Pratt Institute in New York as he showcases his work and guides visitors i
 n their own booklet-making process.\nHamilton has organized a wide range o
 f art\, film\, and publishing projects and has worked as a curator for suc
 h organizations as the Arts Council of England\, Frieze Art Fair\, and the
  British Council. His publications include Black Diamond Magazine and Trin
 ity Journal and he currently publishes Decathlon Books with Peter Sutherla
 nd. He has worked with Thumb Projects\, David Reinfurt\, Dexter Sinister\,
  and Another Pamphlet\, overseeing the production of mimeographed books. A
  former creative director at Urban Outfitters\, he currently combines free
 lance book design with teaching. \nPanel Discussion: 21st-Century Publishi
 ng\nSaturday\, September 15\, 3 pm  \nLecture Room  \nA panel conversation
  about navigating the unpredictable waters of the 21st-century publishing\
 , copresented by mnartists.org and Micawber’s Books\, is moderated by Mi
 cawber’s proprietor Hans Weyandt and mnartists.org editor Susannah Schou
 weiler. The panelists for this informal Q&amp\;A conversation include: Kat
 e Dublinski\, Graywolf Press\; Chris Fishbach\, Coffee House Press\; Steve
