Teen Art Lounge

Teen Art Lounge is a monthly night for young artists to hang out, make art, meet other artists, and learn new techniques and processes with other teens at the Walker. Intended for ages 13 to 18, activities are drop-in and occur every third Thursday of the month. Gallery admission is always free for teens, thanks to Wells Fargo.

September Guest Artist: Crystal Quinn

Kick it with artist Crystal Quinn, shoemaker and designer for Ina Grau, as she teaches you how to make a rad slipper out of felt at this month’s Teen Art Lounge.

October Guest Artist: Bayeté Ross Smith

Join guest artist Bayeté Ross Smith, whose portraits explore ways that clothing, ethnicity, and gender affect our ideas about identity, personality, and character.

November: Student Open House

Join us on November 15 for Student Open House: Identity Crisis, a free night of costuming, identity swapping, art, and live music inspired by the work of chameleon photographer Cindy Sherman.

December Guest Artist: Julia Gualtieri

Come hang with artist Julia Gualtieri in the art lab, where you can explore various collaborative drawing exercises and book forms. Why collaborative drawing? Because tapping into our collective imaginations always yields surprising results—and drawing as a group is a fun way to interact with other people.
