Born in Cuba and now living and working in Los Angeles, Jorge Pardo is known for producing art that combines elements of sculpture, design, and architecture, often raising interesting questions about form, function, and the legacy of 20th-century modernist aesthetics. Pardo has long been interested in both modernist forms and the peculiar landscape of southern California. These botanically inspired monoprints are drawn from a series of 135 unique screenprints on paper. The entire edition was made from 12 silkscreens that the artist layered and reconfigured in various colors and combinations to produce 15 sets of 9 images.
