Physical Description
An artist’s book containing 40 etchings by Robert Motherwell, text by James Joyce. The type is Perpetua, designed by Eric Gill.
Printer
plates prepared and proofed by Catherine Mosely in the artist’s studio, edition printing by Robert Townesend, R.E. Townsend Inc., Georgetown MA. The 18 point roman was set on the Monotype machine and the italic was handset; keyboarding done at Michael Bixler’s Monotype service in Sdaneateles, New York; casting done at Mackenzie-Harris Corp.,San Francisco; handstting and makeup done at Arion Press; text printed by letterpress at Arion on a Miller cylinder in black ink. Book design by Andrew Hoyem, and produced under his derection with the assistance of B. B. Carson, Matthew Kelsey, Geral Reddan, Glenn Todd, Lawrence Van Velzer, and Marilyn Young.
