Current Openings Artist in Residence Intern (Volunteer)

Volunteer, temporary, part-time

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Walker will host a year-long residency with artist Fritz Haeg beginning in January 2013 and concluding in November 2013. The project culminates with Domestic Integrities AO5 (August 8–November 17, 2013), an exhibition in the Medtronic Gallery of new work that explores local patterns and rituals of domestic interior landscapes. This ongoing series examines ways in which gardens and landscapes are harvested and brought into the home. The centerpiece of the installation is a large crocheted rug made by participants on-site, July 29–August 6. The space will host weekly rotations of what the artist refers to as “Domestic Integrities”—activities and items based on or made with materials gathered from their environment, i.e. pickled vegetables and baked bread to herbal arrangements and homemade remedies. Activities will take place weekly during Target Free Thursday Nights and occasional week-ends. For more information about Fritz’s work please visit: http://www.fritzhaeg.com/wikidiary/
