Here is a great opportunity to learn about the care of great modern sculpture in Minnesota’s iconic Minneapolis Sculpture Garden while enjoying the sun and summer air!

The Walker seeks a part-time, temporary Sculpture Garden Technician to assist in the maintenance of the sculptural art works (and surrounding grounds) in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden including cleaning of sculptures and other tasks as assigned.

Time period: May - September, 2013

Time commitment: about 15 hours per week would be ideal; schedule to be determined

Qualified applicants will be:

• reliable, enthusiastic, detail-oriented

• some basic knowledge of sculptural materials and archival procedures preferred

• carpentry skills are a plus

• interest in modern and contemporary sculpture always helps

• ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and to climb ladders required.

This is a volunteer opportunity. The selected individual will receive a free one-year Walker membership with discounts in the Walker’s restaurant, café, and the Walker Shop. Complimentary tickets to select events also offered. Parking will be reimbursed in the underground parking ramp.
