Volunteer/Part-time/Temporary
The Walker seeks a part-time Web Content Intern to assist the Web Editor with daily production of content on the Walker’s new, award-winning homepage.
Duties will include helping to identify and write descriptive summaries for Art News From Elsewhere, the page’s aggregated newslinks section, and helping prepare text and images for publication. Additional duties may include transcription of interviews, writing blog posts, and working on select administrative tasks. The exceptional intern may have the opportunity to write occasional feature stories for the Walker homepage.
Duration: June–August, 2013; 10–15 hours per week
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in internet culture, news, and online arts media, as well as an interest in and previous knowledge of contemporary art (visual arts, film, performing arts, new media, architecture, and design). Strong writing and editing skills, plus fluency with the web, are essential.
