What draws you to the Walker?
On quiet days, I can disappear into a place that can inspire, challenge, and calm me. On not-so-quiet days, I can be part of a larger conversation about why art is an important part of living fully. I’m also inspired by the arts and the possibilities they hold to create change. Being a member is my way of recognizing that and saying thank you.
What have you enjoyed most about being a Patrons’ Circle member?
I love the curator-led tours. Experiencing a detailed walk-through of an exhibition helps me to better understand the work, the artists, and the curator’s perspective.
What do you do when you aren’t at the Walker?
Outside of my work at Target, I am a fashion designer and create commissioned pieces for clients. I also try to get out and enjoy the art, music, and fashion of Minneapolis as much as possible.
What are you into right now?
I’m entranced by the paintings of Jerome Fellow Melissa Loop, the work of Ruben Nusz at the Weinstein Gallery, and artist Shinique Smith, whom I was introduced to at Franklin Artworks. I’m also excited by the shows at David Peterson’s gallery at Lyndale and Franklin.
