River of Fundament, Matthew Barney’s forthcoming project, is loosely based on Norman Mailer’s 1983 novel Ancient Evenings. Starring Paul Giamatti and Maggie Gyllenhaal, it includes “a barge outfitted with a mysterious replica of Mailer’s New York home.”
