At the 2012 American Association of Museums (AAM) annual meeting, going on in Minneapolis through May 2, the new Walker website was awarded a Gold Muse for Online Presence. Congratulations to all Muse winners!

Digital cameras capture “gobs of parsable metadata about photos”— where they’re taken and when, say — but nothing about what’s in the shot, writes Matt Richardson. His new invention changes that: “The Descriptive Camera only outputs the metadata about the content.”

The Walker took home two prizes at the 2012 Museums & the Web conference, held in San Diego over the weekend, including Most Innovative and Best Overall. Congratulations to the Walker web and design teams, and to all 2012 winners!

The nominees list for the 2012 Webby People’s Voice Awards—honoring the best of the web—has just been released, and the Walker Art Center’s new website makes the cut, in the category of best art site. Voting is open to the public through April 26.
