FlatPak House
The FlatPak House, designed by Minneapolis-based Lazor Office, re-opens to the public this summer. Stop by the hippest visitor center in the city. Talk with Walker staff about the FlatPak, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, or the Walker Art Center. Sit on one of the comfy green couches courtesy of Blu Dot and contemplate the structure’s architecture, flip through an issue of Dwell or one of the prefab architecture books on the coffee table, or lay your head back and enjoy a siesta. Occasionally, Walker tour guides will be on hand to offer on-demand tours of the Garden that will take off from the FlatPak.
Garden Grill by D’Amico
Serving up summer classics including sausages, hot dogs and burgers, plus a variety of local beers, wines, soda, and lemonade.
Special Events
If you’re interested in renting the space for a private event, visit Walker Facility Rental.
Accessibility
Please note that wheel chair accessibility in the Open Field is best on the flat surfaces of Vineland Plaza and the lower portion of the grass. Loose gravel surfaces under the trees and picnic tables make wheel chair navigation difficult, however we can work to accommodate any group. Please call the Access Line at 612.375.7564 to discuss your needs ahead of time, or to let us know how your visit went.
The Walker Art Center is accessible to all visitors. For more information, visit walkerart.org/visit.
